Twelve Securis appoints Andre Botma as ILS portfolio manager

Botma will help manage an ILS platform that combines Twelve Securis' catastrophe bond and private ILS capabilities into a single investment management team.

Twelve Securis, an insurance-linked securities investment manager focused on catastrophe bonds and ILS strategies, has appointed André Botma as Portfolio Manager within its ILS Investment Management team.

The appointment follows the firm’s transformation plan to combine its catastrophe bond and private ILS capabilities into one ILS Investment Management platform, aimed at consolidating and optimizing how it manages dedicated strategies and blended portfolios. Botma will work with teams across portfolio management, analytics, trading, and Catastrophe and Climate Research.

Based in Zurich, Botma joins with more than 25 years of experience in ILS, insurance, and financial markets, including cat bond and private ILS portfolio management, portfolio construction, and asset allocation. Twelve Securis said his experience complements existing capabilities and that its investment philosophy, portfolio construction process, and risk management framework remain unchanged.

Botma joins from Euler ILS Partners, where he recently served as a Senior Portfolio Manager, and previously held senior roles at Credit Suisse Group AG in insurance-linked strategies before UBS acquired Credit Suisse in 2023. The UBS deal to sell Credit Suisse Insurance Linked Strategies Ltd. to its existing management team, led by Niklaus Hilti, was reached in mid-2024.
