Allianz Commercial names Emma Woolley president of Global Specialty and UK
Her start date is targeted for no later than February 2027, contingent on regulatory approval, as Allianz seeks to expand its international Specialty business and strengthen its UK position.
Reinsurance News reports that Allianz Commercial has appointed Emma Woolley as President of Global Specialty and the UK Region. The role also includes a seat on the Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE Board of Management, with Woolley reporting to Thomas Lillelund, CEO of Allianz Commercial.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval, and Woolley is expected to join once her current professional commitments end, but no later than February 2027. In the position, she is set to oversee Allianz Commercial’s Global Specialty lines of business and lead the UK markets, working closely with other regional presidents to expand the Specialty portfolio globally.
Allianz said it expects Woolley to coordinate with leadership including Chief Underwriting Officer Vanessa Maxwell Neverton and Chief Distribution Officer Jeremy Sharpe. The carrier framed the move as part of efforts to grow its international Specialty business and reinforce its stance in the UK.
Woolley joins Allianz Commercial from Talbot Underwriting, the Lloyd’s Specialty platform of AIG, where she serves as CEO. Reinsurance News notes she previously held roles at AIG, including Global Head of Marine, and earlier experience at Lancashire Group, Canopius Group, Swiss Re, and BMS Group.
