BrokerLink buys three Canadian brokerages to expand in Alberta and Nova Scotia

The acquisitions closed on August 1, adding offices in Pincher Creek and expanding BrokerLink’s Calgary footprint.

BrokerLink, through its Intact Financial subsidiary, has acquired three insurance brokerages across Alberta and Nova Scotia, with the deals completed on August 1, according to Coverager.

The company bought Calgary-based CRS/Merrill Insurance, Ames’ Insurance & Real Estate in Pincher Creek, Alberta, and Schofield Insurance in Nova Scotia. The Ames acquisition marks BrokerLink’s entry into Pincher Creek, while CRS Merrill expands the firm’s existing presence in Calgary.

Schofield Insurance, founded in 1977, operates offices in Windsor and Halifax and offers personal, commercial, and specialty insurance products. Employees from all three brokerages will join BrokerLink and continue serving their existing communities, the outlet said.

BrokerLink operates 235 branches and employs more than 5,000 people across Canada, the report added, noting it has previously acquired other insurance brokerages including Insure Exact Insurance Brokers, ThinkInsure, First Fruits Insurance Services, and Costen Insurance.
