Skyward CFO Mark Haushill to retire in 2027, with Taryn McHarg set to lead
Haushill will retire on March 31, 2027, and will stay on as a Senior Advisor through the end of 2027 to support the finance transition.
Skyward Group, the specialty insurance organisation behind Skyward Specialty Insurance Group and Apollo Group Holdings, announced a planned change in senior financial leadership. Current CFO Mark Haushill will retire on March 31, 2027 after more than a decade with the company, the firm said.
Skyward selected Taryn McHarg, currently CFO of Apollo and Deputy CFO of Skyward Group, to succeed Haushill as Skyward Group’s CFO following his retirement. Haushill will remain involved as a Senior Advisor through the end of 2027 to help ensure continuity in the finance function.
The leadership change comes as Skyward points to several milestones during Haushill’s tenure, including Skyward Specialty’s initial public offering in 2023, improvements to its capital structure and financial strength and the acquisition of Apollo completed in January 2026. Skyward also highlighted its AM Best financial rating improvements as part of that progress, according to the company.
Skyward CEO Andrew Robinson thanked Haushill for his contributions, saying his impact on the organization will be felt for years. McHarg said she is honored to take on the role at an important point in Skyward’s evolution and cited the combination of Skyward Specialty and Apollo as creating a more diversified organization with strategic opportunities ahead, the outlet reported.
