King Risk Partners buys 1892-founded Long Island insurance agency
The acquisition expands King Risk Partners' New York presence with flood and waterfront-focused coverage that standard homeowners policies often exclude, and it follows a surge in acquisitions in 2025.
King Risk Partners has acquired Norton and Siegel, a 134-year-old insurance agency based in Babylon Village on Long Island's South Shore, adding a book centered on flood and waterfront property and specialized liability coverage.
The deal strengthens King Risk Partners' growing New York network by bringing a niche South Shore specialist, where standard homeowners policies typically exclude flood and storm-surge damage, making specialist placement a practical need for many local clients.
Norton and Siegel, founded in 1892, served individuals, families, and businesses across New York for generations before joining the Gainesville, Florida-based brokerage.
King Risk Partners said it has completed 14 acquisitions across all markets in 2025, nearly double the eight it closed in 2024, and the day before announcing Norton and Siegel it hired Colton Houseman as executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions, effective August 2026.
The firm is backed by private equity investors Lightyear Capital and BHMS Investments, and it framed the transaction as a way to add carriers, resources, and capabilities while building on Norton and Siegel's legacy, according to King Risk Partners executives.
