White House crypto push boosts Direxion Daily Bitcoin Bull 2X ETF
Bitcoin rose more than 10% during August 19 to 20, lifting interest in the BTCU ETF that targets twice daily spot Bitcoin performance.
ETF Trends links the recent surge in the Direxion Daily Bitcoin Bull 2X ETF, ticker BTCU, to a White House cryptocurrency meeting that gathered policymakers and digital asset industry leaders.
According to the outlet, Bitcoin logged a double-digit gain over August 19 to 20, and BTCU, launched in May, is designed to deliver 200% of the daily performance of the largest basic spot Bitcoin ETF.
ETF Trends also points to expectations around the U.S. advancing the Clarity Act, legislation intended to position the country as a global crypto leader. The outlet notes Coinbase Global CEO Brian Armstrong said he was optimistic the bill could secure the 60 Senate votes needed to advance.
The brief further cites a regulatory tailwind, referencing the SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets, which the outlet says would create exemptions tied to fundraising limits and include a conditional safe harbor. ETF Trends adds that a September 15 procedural vote in the Senate could be a key near-term step for the Clarity Act.
