Zuckerberg and Chan buy 440-acre Strancally castle estate in Ireland

The off-market purchase price was not disclosed, but the Irish Times estimated the deal at about €20m to €30m.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have bought Strancally castle and a 178-hectare, 440-acre estate in County Waterford, Ireland, to serve as a base during visits, according to the Guardian Business.

The spokesperson said Zuckerberg and his family are “excited” to continue caring for the historic home and plan to spend time in Ireland, where Meta maintains its international headquarters.

The sale, which transferred the property after 25 years, was conducted off market and the price was not publicly known. The Irish Times estimated the value at roughly €20m to €30m.

Strancally castle was built in 1830 and was previously owned by Michael Alen-Buckley and his wife Giancarla, who bought the estate and renovated it in the early 2000s, the report said.
