ALPS Property & Casualty moves LawyerCare LPL policies to OneShield
The LawyerCare system transition was completed in about six months, replacing a legacy platform with OMS’s cloud-based policy administration.
OneShield said ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Company has gone live on its OneShield Market Solutions (OMS) platform for policy administration of the LawyerCare lawyers’ professional liability program.
The implementation is intended to help ALPS operate a recently acquired broker-distributed book of business using a modern, scalable core platform built for specialty carriers. ALPS is described as the nation’s largest direct writer of lawyers’ malpractice insurance, with roots in serving solo and small law firms through direct distribution.
OneShield said the project’s initial go-live took about six months from start to completion, with OMS replacing ALPS’s legacy system for the LawyerCare program. OneShield also said OMS includes pre-loaded insurance content, configurable workflows, and a managed-service model that bundles system implementation, support, and ongoing enhancements under a single subscription.
The move follows ALPS’s acquisition of LawyerCare in 2025 from ProAssurance, which expanded ALPS’s broker-channel reach and created a dual-distribution strategy. OneShield president Rex Blazevich said the implementation demonstrates OMS’s ability to get a specialty carrier operational quickly with insurance content and workflows ready to configure.
