Developers scan Bitcoin for AI-discoverable security flaws

The group says access to cheap, powerful AI models has expanded attackers' ability to find and exploit weaknesses in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Decrypt reports that a group of roughly 20 developers is scanning parts of the Bitcoin ecosystem for security weaknesses that could be more easily discovered by AI tools.

The developers argue that inexpensive, high-capability models give attackers broader reach, increasing the risk that flaws in software, protocols, or related components could be identified and targeted at scale.

They also describe their effort as a direct pushback, using the same AI capabilities for defensive review rather than letting automated discovery drive attacker advantage.
