L3Harris selects Intuitive Machines for 18 spacecraft platforms under AMDT3
The deal pairs L3Harris' AMDT3 payload technology with Intuitive Machines' satellite platform manufacturing, while both companies report very different Q2 2026 cash flow and profitability profiles.
L3Harris Technologies has selected Intuitive Machines to build 18 advanced spacecraft platforms for the Space Development Agency's Accelerated Missile Defense Tranche 3 mission, highlighting a shift toward major defense primes partnering with faster-moving commercial space firms for missile tracking infrastructure, according to Yahoo Finance.
Under the agreement, Intuitive Machines will manufacture and deliver the satellite platforms that will host L3Harris' payload technology, supporting the Golden Dome architecture for national security space operations.
Yahoo Finance also contrasts the companies' financial positions. In Q2 2026, L3Harris reported $5.9 billion in revenue, $600 million in net income, and diluted EPS of $3.13, alongside $771 million in free cash flow for the quarter and a $42.0 billion backlog.
By comparison, Intuitive Machines reported Q2 2026 revenue of $206 million, gross profit of $36 million, and an operating loss of $47 million, with an Adjusted EBITDA loss of $14 million. The outlet notes the company burned $84 million in cash during the quarter but ended with $367 million in cash, while backlog rose to a record $1.8 billion, and management reiterated full-year 2026 guidance for $900 million to $1 billion in revenue and positive Adjusted EBITDA.
