Hong Kong may issue typhoon warning Tuesday or Wednesday as Narra nears
The Hong Kong Observatory said it will monitor Narra’s path and local wind changes, with early next week expected to bring showers and squally thunderstorms.
The Hong Kong Observatory may issue a tropical cyclone warning signal on Tuesday or Wednesday as Tropical Cyclone Narra edges closer to the region, according to SCMP Economy.
The forecast said Narra is expected to linger near the Beibu Wan area before turning northeast later on Monday to Tuesday, moving toward the vicinity of the Leizhou Peninsula. Leizhou Peninsula is described as the far southwestern tip of Guangdong province, about 400 km west-southwest of Hong Kong.
The Observatory said it will closely monitor Narra’s movement and changes in local wind conditions to decide whether to issue warning signals on Tuesday or Wednesday. It urged the public to follow the latest weather updates.
The forecast also points to showers and squally thunderstorms early next week, with temperatures rising from 27 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees on Friday.
