India’s exchanges set to stay open on Friday for Raksha Bandhan
Trading on BSE and NSE is scheduled to run across equity and derivatives segments on August 28, with MCX also open.
Indian stock and commodity markets are set to operate as normal for Raksha Bandhan on Friday, August 28, after holiday calendars published for the BSE and NSE showed no festival trading closure, LiveMint Markets reports.
According to the exchanges’ holiday schedules, trading will remain open across equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, NDS-RST and Tri Party Repo segments on August 28.
LiveMint Markets adds that the Multi Commodity Exchange holiday calendar also indicates commodity trading will be operational on the same date.
The report also notes that Indian benchmark indices ended the week on a cautious note, with the Nifty 50 down about 0.47% to 24,252 and the Sensex off nearly 0.60% to 77,540.83, as elevated crude oil prices and firmer global bond yields weighed on sentiment.
