Alliant appoints Rick George to lead employer benefits group

George joins Alliant after 38 years at J.B. Hunt, including senior roles spanning benefits and wellness, and enrollment data and vendor management.

Alliant Insurance Services has named Rick George as first vice president within its employee benefits group, effective July, based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, according to Insurance Business.

George spent 38 years at J.B. Hunt Transport, joining in 1988 as benefits manager and later moving through roles including senior director of benefits and wellness, and director of HRMS across the 1990s and 2000s, giving him experience with enrollment data, reporting systems, and vendor management at large-employer scale.

The appointment arrives as employer health cost growth remains elevated, with Aon projecting in September 2025 that US employer health costs will rise 9.5% in 2026 to above $17,000 per employee.

Alliant said George will work with employer clients nationwide, with a mandate covering benefits strategy linked to workforce experience, organizational culture, and long-term cost management, and that the role builds on his background managing benefits for a large, distributed, predominantly hourly workforce.
