Bitcoin jumps 23.6% in best week since 2021 as ETFs pull in capital
Crypto ETF inflows hit $2.62 billion, with bitcoin ETFs taking in $1.92 billion and ether ETFs adding $697 million during the week.
Bitcoin surged 23.6% over the past week, marking its second-strongest weekly performance since early 2021, after a catalyst tied to U.S. Treasury buybacks helped lift risk assets, CoinDesk reported.
During the rally, bitcoin climbed from about $62,000 to a high near $79,500 before settling around $77,000. Ether rose 31.3% from below $1,900 to above $2,520, then eased back to just under $2,500.
CoinDesk said crypto ETFs attracted $2.62 billion in total inflows, the strongest weekly total since October 2025, with U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs drawing $1.92 billion. Ether ETFs recorded $697 million of inflows, their strongest week since early October 2025.
The outlet linked part of the move to conditions that preceded the breakout, including months of consolidation, falling volatility, and investors building positions ahead of a price-range break, plus U.S. Treasury buyback expansion announced by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that pushed yields and the dollar lower. CoinDesk also noted both bitcoin and ether moved above their 200-day simple moving averages during the advance.
