Blackstone fund adds second direct investment in catastrophe bond
The Blackstone Alternative Multi-Strategy Fund increased its exposure to SafePoint-sponsored Nature Coast Re cat bonds by adding a second $250,000 position, valued at $507,350 as of March 31, 2026.
Blackstone Alternative Asset Management, the hedge fund solutions unit of Blackstone, has made a second direct investment into a catastrophe bond through one of its flagship multi-strategy alternatives funds, according to Artemis.
Artemis reports that the fund previously made its first direct cat bond investment in 2025, when it invested $250,000 into SafePoint insurer’s Nature Coast Re Ltd., Series 2025-2. The fund continues to disclose that position as of March 31, 2026.
The new move adds another small allocation: a $250,000 investment into the most recently issued SafePoint-sponsored catastrophe bond, Nature Coast Re Ltd., Series 2026-1, which came to market earlier this year.
Together, Artemis says the two Nature Coast Re cat bond investments are valued at $507,350 as of March 31, 2026, while the fund’s overall cat bond exposure is still described as a very small allocation.
