Clear Group acquires Lloyd’s wholesale broker NPP to expand London operations

The deal adds a 24-person Lloyd’s specialist broker that grew revenue to about £7 million in FY26 and raised gross written premium to about £120 million.

Clear Group, an independent insurance intermediary, has acquired Newman Pearce & Partners LLP, a specialist Lloyd’s wholesale broker, as it looks to accelerate growth in the London market. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Clear’s wholesale footprint and broaden its specialist capabilities for retail brokers and coverholders seeking access to Lloyd’s.

NPP was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in London, employing 24 people. It provides specialist broking services spanning Global Specialty, International Liability, Construction, Offshore Marine Liability, and Specialist Property, with about 95% of its portfolio sourced from overseas markets, including Canada, Australia, and the United States.

Clear said NPP has experienced strong growth, with revenue rising from about £5 million in FY25 to about £7 million in FY26. Over the same period, gross written premium increased from approximately £70 million to about £120 million, supported by its referral relationships and specialist hiring.

Clear noted that NPP’s expertise complements its existing wholesale foundation through Lilley Plummer Risks Ltd, with the companies described as having no internal overlap. Clear also said the combined businesses will enhance its ability to deliver access to specialist Lloyd’s solutions across a wider range of sectors, and that NPP has launched a Canadian managing general agent platform underwriting natural resources business since September 2025, according to Reinsurance News.
