Medtronic reports faster growth as Tenet posts sharp EPS gains
Medtronic said its Cardiac Ablation Solutions revenue rose 78% globally, including 124% growth in the United States.
Medtronic plc and Tenet Healthcare are presenting contrasting healthcare growth narratives, with Medtronic’s turnaround tied to newer medical-device technologies and Tenet’s results driven by improving hospital profitability and a shift toward higher-acuity ambulatory procedures, according to a Yahoo Finance comparison. Medtronic’s outlook leans on whether an innovation-led recovery can become durable across its device portfolio. The company reported its highest annual revenue growth in a decade in fiscal Q4 and full-year 2026 results, the comparison noted, along with growth opportunities across products including Affera, Symplicity, Hugo, Altaviva, and Stealth AXiS. A key contributor highlighted was Cardiac Ablation Solutions, where revenue increased 78% globally, including 124% growth in the United States. The comparison also pointed to Medtronic’s ongoing investment in innovation and acquisitions, including targeted investments in intracardiac echocardiography catheter technology. Tenet’s story is framed as more immediate operating momentum, with the latest earnings showing adjusted diluted EPS up 52.2% year over year to $6.12 and net operating revenue up 6.8% to $5.63 billion. The comparison added that ambulatory revenue rose 9.3% to about $1.39 billion and hospital revenue grew 6% to around $4.20 billion.
