Zoetis reports flat revenue as U.S. companion-animal demand softens
Fiscal Q2 2026 revenue was $2.5 billion, flat overall, with livestock revenue up 12% on a reported basis offsetting pressure in U.S. pet sales.
Zoetis Inc. showed mixed results in its fiscal Q2 2026 earnings, with revenue holding steady at $2.5 billion while organic performance declined 1%, reflecting weaker demand in the U.S. companion-animal market, according to Yahoo Finance. The quarter highlights a split between an established companion-animal business facing near-term pressure and a more diversified animal-health portfolio still investing for its next generation of products.
The company said livestock revenue rose 12% on a reported basis, helped by a 23% jump in U.S. livestock sales on both a reported and organic operational basis. Yahoo Finance notes that the improvement was supported by favorable beef-cattle economics, supply timing, and increased poultry-vaccine sales tied to disease outbreaks.
Outside the United States, revenue increased 8% on a reported basis and 6% organically to $1.2 billion. International companion-animal sales grew 5% organically, with growth tied to parasiticides including Simparica Trio, Revolution, and Stronghold, along with diagnostics and newer osteoarthritis treatments.
Zoetis pointed to its pipeline as a potential path back to growth, saying it has more than 12 potential blockbuster candidates across areas including chronic kidney disease, oncology, cardiology, anxiety, and obesity. The company also launched Lenivia and Portela, long-acting osteoarthritis treatments designed to provide up to three months of pain relief from one injection, and it added veterinary teleradiology capabilities through its acquisition of VitalRADS, Yahoo Finance reports.
