Netflix weighs watching everything inside one app

Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon are pushing subscriptions toward in-app bundling to compete with existing “all-in-one” viewing options, according to the New York Times.

The New York Times reports that streaming platforms are moving toward “one app” viewing, where users can subscribe to multiple services without switching platforms.

It says YouTube is trying to catch up with Amazon, which already offers ways to subscribe to other services, such as HBO Max, from within its app.

The Times adds that Netflix is increasingly open to a similar approach, reflecting a broader race to keep users inside a single digital storefront for subscriptions.

The outlet frames the shift as an effort to better compete for audience attention as streaming ecosystems expand beyond standalone platforms.
