Chang’e-7 Long March 5 Y14 launch postponed for safety checks

China’s Chang’e-7 mission launch was postponed after safety and reliability checks delayed a scheduled liftoff of the Long March 5 Y14 rocket, according to SCMP Economy.

The report said the launch was expected to take place on Monday morning at the Wenchang Space Launch Site on Hainan’s northeastern coast, where the facility staged its first launch in 2016.

SCMP Economy reported that, after the delay, the rocket was brought back into view and began a slow return from the launch pad to the vertical assembly building at around 4pm.

The outlet described the return as moving at a crawl pace as operations shifted from launch to the next steps following the checks.
