Paramount CEO seeks paths to close WBD buyout after antitrust setback

State attorneys general have mounted an antitrust challenge that has delayed the Paramount deal for WBD.

CNBC Markets reports Paramount CEO David Ellison is facing the last steps toward acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery but has not been able to clear an antitrust challenge.

The obstacle is a legal push by a group of state attorneys general, which has prompted Ellison to look for alternative ways to get the transaction completed.

With the deal still not moving forward, Ellison remains focused on finding a route through the antitrust hurdle as the effort to combine the companies continues.
