SEC subpoenas banks in probe tied to AI hedge fund trades

The New York Times Business reports that the SEC has started investigating a near-implosion of an AI-focused hedge fund.
According to the report, regulators sent subpoenas to major Wall Street banks to gather information related to trading in Situational Awareness.
The outlet said three people briefed on the outreach described the SEC’s effort to obtain details from those banks.
