Trump made over 1,000 trades in June as oil and gas holdings rise
The newly released ethics disclosure shows 30-plus trades a day in June, with transaction values between $78 million and $263 million, while a separate Democratic analysis says his oil and gas stock stake could have climbed alongside higher energy prices tied to the war in Iran.
President Trump made more than 1,000 equity trades in June, according to a newly released ethics disclosure, as political scrutiny over stock trading profits has intensified with midterm elections approaching.
The disclosure indicates an average of over 30 trades per day in June, with transactions totaling between $78 million and $263 million. The reporting also notes Trump invested on June 23 in SpaceX after the company went public, with an amount between $15,000 and $50,000.
The ethics materials also show continued trading in Tesla during June, including three purchases totaling between $130,000 and $350,000 and one sale between $100,000 and $250,000.
Separate analysis from Democratic lawmakers focused on Trump’s oil and gas holdings, estimating that at the end of 2025 he held as much as $45.6 million in oil and gas stocks. The analysis also suggests those assets could be worth up to $61.1 million given higher gas prices linked to the war in Iran, and found he bought up to $3.6 million in additional oil and gas stocks in the first three months of 2026, when the war began, according to Yahoo Finance.
