Alpharetta City Council approves plan to redevelop North Point Mall
The proposal, led by Jamestown for the site owner New York Life, is contingent on the NHL awarding a franchise team and includes a 20,000-seat NHL-ready arena.
Alpharetta City Council has voted to approve a vision to transform North Point Mall into a sports-adjacent, mixed-use entertainment district, according to ConnectCRE.
The plan is contingent on the NHL awarding a franchise team to the North Point site. It is led by Jamestown on behalf of site owner New York Life, in partnership with Machete Group.
Redevelopment components would include a 20,000-seat NHL-ready arena, a 4,000-seat music hall and performing arts center, and a 2,000-seat community hockey rink, along with a 1,100-seat movie theater and a 35,000-square-foot hotel conference center.
ConnectCRE reports the project would also add about 565,000 square feet of retail and dining, 750,000 square feet of office space, 1,385 for-rent multifamily units, and up to 650 hotel rooms across two hotel buildings, plus more than 20 acres of parks, plazas, and multi-use trails, delivered in phases.
