Aon to launch Totalis Specialty Group in 2027

Totalis Specialty Group is set to start on January 1, 2027, combining NFP Totalis and Aon Affinity U.S. programs businesses into a single specialty go-to-market identity.

Aon announced it will launch Totalis Specialty Group, a unified specialty insurance group that combines NFP Totalis Program Underwriters and Aon Affinity’s U.S. programs business under one go-to-market strategy and brand identity, according to Coverager.

The planned group is expected to begin operations on January 1, 2027, with the current businesses continuing to operate through 2026 with minimal disruption. Aon said the combined platform will represent more than $5.5 billion in U.S. premium volume, with an addressable market available globally.

Totalis Specialty Group will remain separate from Aon and NFP’s broking businesses. Coverager reports it will launch with 46 specialty programs supported by relationships with more than 25,000 active brokers, 100 active carrier and reinsurance relationships, and 350 sponsor relationships.

Leadership will be shared between two experienced Aon and NFP executives, with Kip Kelley serving as Executive Chairman and Tom Gillingham as CEO. Aon CEO of Risk Capital Joe Peiser said the move is intended to create more connected and scalable specialty solutions, supported by investment in talent, technology, data, and innovation.
