Bitcoin spot ETF inflow streak faces US data release test

On Aug. 26, the surge is measured as $2.5697 billion in net inflows over seven straight sessions, with BlackRock’s IBIT driving about 90.5% of the latest day’s total.

Bitcoin’s seven-session inflow streak for U.S. spot BTC ETFs faced a concentrated macro test at 8:30 a.m. ET on Aug. 26, as three major U.S. releases landed at the same time, including July personal income and outlays with PCE inflation indexes, the second estimate of Q2 GDP, and July advance durable-goods orders.

CryptoSlate said BTC was around $78,508 before the data, down about 2% over 24 hours but up roughly 22.8% over seven days. The story framed the setup as a key check on whether recent spot ETF demand can offset potential market moves, such as changes in Treasury yields or the U.S. dollar.

According to Farside Investors’ daily table cited by CryptoSlate, the ETF streak ran from Aug. 17 through Aug. 25 with seven consecutive positive sessions totaling $2.5697 billion in net inflows, though the flow data do not show who the end investors are. The latest session was also concentrated, with BlackRock’s IBIT taking $284.4 million of the $314.3 million total on Aug. 25, or about 90.5%.

CryptoSlate also highlighted reference points used heading into the release: a Cleveland Fed Aug. 25 nowcast for July PCE inflation of 0.15% month over month and 3.65% year over year, core PCE at 0.25% monthly and 3.29% annually, and a starting macro backdrop with the 10-year Treasury yield near 4.65% and the U.S. Dollar Index around 99.0. The outlet noted it was too early to judge the outcome until after the reports hit the market.
