Corgi launches admitted insurance carrier for small and mid-market accounts
Corgi said it has filed its first products for the new carrier, with planned offerings for industries ranging from technology to self-storage and select residential property types.
AI financial infrastructure firm Corgi has launched an admitted insurance carrier, Corgi Insurance Company, Inc., expanding the insurance structures it can use across its group, which already includes risk retention groups, reinsurers, captives, and managing general agencies. Corgi said different risks are suited to different structures, and the admitted carrier broadens the options available for particular accounts.
The company said it has filed its first products for the carrier, with planned offerings aimed at small and middle-market industries. Those targets include technology companies, professional and administrative offices, retail stores, personal services businesses such as salons and repair shops, self-storage facilities, restaurants, and wholesalers and distributors.
Corgi also said the offerings will include coverage for condominium and homeowners associations, as well as small apartment buildings and residential rental properties. Earlier this year, the firm secured $108 million in total financing from a group of investors that includes Y Combinator and SV Angel, among others.
Corgi added that it has made a series of senior appointments since then, most recently naming Johannes Els as Head of Portfolio Risk.
