MassMutual Ventures launches $150 million Climate Technology Fund II

The new vehicle expands MassMutual Ventures total climate-tech commitments to $300 million after the 2023 launch of its first Climate Technology Fund.

MassMutual Ventures is launching Climate Technology Fund II, a $150 million venture capital fund focused on early-stage companies using climate technology and artificial intelligence to improve real assets, including energy infrastructure, real estate, and natural resources, according to Coverager.

The fund will invest in North America-based startups developing physical and digital technologies aimed at helping owners and operators improve performance, reduce costs, and manage risk.

CTF II targets startups operating at the intersection of clean energy demand, rising physical and operational risk across real assets, and broader adoption of industry-specific AI applications.

Coverager reports the fund will build on MMV’s first Climate Technology Fund, launched in 2023, which has invested in 16 companies, and MassMutual Ventures says its commitments to climate technology now total $300 million.
