U.S. inflation jumps in July, keeping pressure on Fed policy
The Federal Reserve’s main inflation gauge rose at an elevated pace in July, raising the odds of a rate hike at the Fed’s next meeting.
MarketWatch reports that U.S. inflation increased again in July at an elevated rate, keeping the reading well above the Federal Reserve’s target.
The outlet says the main inflation measure used by the Fed to set interest rates rose enough to potentially move the central bank closer to a vote on higher rates next month.
