SCMP Economy reports that Bill Gates argues the United States and China must cooperate to manage the major societal effects of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence.

In the essay published Wednesday, Gates described AI as ushering in what he called “one of the most turbulent times in human history,” adding that it could develop into either “the greatest equaliser ever invented” or “the worst source of injustice.”
