Marsh launches Stratus property exchange for digital infrastructure risks
The new exchange gives US-domiciled clients access to up to $10 billion of property insurance capacity on a single-placement basis as projects move from construction to operation.
Global insurance broker Marsh announced the launch of Stratus, a property insurance exchange aimed at managing operational risks for large digital infrastructure projects like data centers and critical support systems.
According to Insurance Journal, Stratus is designed to provide access to up to $10 billion in property insurance capacity on a single-placement basis for the global exposures of US-domiciled companies, with 30 traditional and alternative capital provider participants evaluating each risk individually.
Marsh said Stratus creates a more structured trading environment to help providers assess, quantify, and diversify risk and address aggregation concerns during the operational phase. The exchange will also use Marsh data, analytics, and advisory services to help clients procure customized property coverage.
Insurance Journal reported that Stratus is intended as an extension of Marsh’s construction-phase facility, Nimbus, and can be engaged separately or together, with additional lines planned to expand into inland marine, cyber, and casualty over time.
