MGAA membership and event attendance rise in 2026 annual report
MGAA said its number of MGA members grew from 249 to 270 over the 12-month period ending 31 July 2026.
The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has published its 2026 annual report, covering activity from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026 as the managing general agent, or MGA, sector continues to develop within the wider insurance market, according to Reinsurance News. MGAA reported membership growth across its three categories, saying the number of MGA Members rose from 249 to 270, Market Practitioners increased from 68 to 76, and Supplier Members grew from 152 to 162. The association also highlighted increased participation in its events and educational initiatives during the reporting period. MGAA said it hosted 53 Professional Optics sessions during the year, up from 43 in the prior period, and recorded 4,638 registrations and attendees. It also reported that the average number of registrations per session increased by 38%, and noted that more than 1,300 delegates attended its Annual Conference.
Regulatory engagement was a key focus, with MGAA stating that its engagement with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority increased, including direct FCA participation in its Compliance Insights sessions. The report said members had opportunities to engage with Lisa Sturley, Director of Insurance at the FCA, alongside her team, as sessions addressed regulatory priorities.
