MoonPay adds Kamino Solana lending access via ChatGPT and Claude
The integration brings Kamino, which has about $1.3 billion in total value locked and roughly $1.0 billion in active loans, into MoonPay PayBox for AI-led lending and borrowing on eligible accounts.
CoinDesk reports that MoonPay has expanded its PayBox AI-focused payment vault by adding Kamino, a Solana lending protocol, enabling eligible users to lend or borrow on Solana through conversations with ChatGPT or Claude.
According to the report, users can instruct the AI to supply tokens for yield or borrow dollar-pegged USDC against collateral posted to Kamino. MoonPay says users can choose to approve each transaction, or allow the AI to act within preset limits.
CoinDesk notes that MoonPay is not creating a new loan product, but replacing Kamino’s usual interface with natural-language instructions delivered through its AI setup.
The integration still carries DeFi risks, including the possibility of liquidation if collateral value drops enough to cross Kamino’s liquidation threshold. The feature is unavailable in the U.S., U.K., European Union, and Australia, and access may vary by asset and jurisdiction.
