Hong Kong primary school reopens at new Tai Po campus after blaze

The Education Bureau spent HK$43.6 million to refurbish classrooms, toilets, and replace electrical and air-conditioning systems before the school relocated.

Nearly 600 pupils and their teachers at Tai Po Baptist Public School in Hong Kong have reunited at a newly renovated campus in Tai Po after the deadly Wang Fuk Court blaze, according to SCMP Economy.

The school opened its new premises at Fu Shin Estate on Saturday after months operating from two temporary sites, ending the disruption caused by the fire near its former location.

SCMP Economy reports the campus was previously home to CCC Kei Ching Primary School, and Hong Kong's Education Bureau spent HK$43.6 million to refurbish key facilities and update electrical and air-conditioning systems.

In comments carried by the outlet, a school spokesperson said the institution overcame difficulties through collaboration among different parties and has been restored following the fire.
