Solana passes proposal to double disinflation rate, vote margins vary
The proposal cleared a two-thirds approval threshold of decisive stake, with 176.3 million SOL voting in favor versus 66.2 million against and 20.6 million abstaining.
Solana governance has marked Accepted a proposal to double the network’s annual disinflation rate, according to on-chain vote data compiled by CryptoSlate.
Validator Info shows 176.29 million SOL voted For, 66.19 million SOL voted Against, and 20.63 million SOL abstained, with the final public tally leaving slightly different-looking margins depending on how abstentions are treated.
CryptoSlate notes the result gives validators and stakers a directional mandate to accelerate the path toward lower issuance, but it does not immediately change SOL’s monetary schedule. Implementation still depends on later steps including client coordination, feature gating, and eventual activation.
Using Solana’s governance rule that excludes Abstain from the approval denominator, the decisive stake (For plus Against) totals about 242.48 million SOL, so the two-thirds threshold is about 161.65 million SOL, meaning support cleared the cut by roughly 14.64 million SOL. CryptoSlate adds that Kraken and Galaxy shifted toward majority For shortly before the vote closed.
