CIA chief’s Moscow talks aimed at reducing regional tensions, Lithuania says

Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nauseda said he has been briefed by the United States on the content of CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s Moscow talks, characterizing the visit as an effort to reduce regional tensions. Nauseda said the meeting had “achieved its stated objectives” and was intended to lower tensions in the region, according to Lithuanian media reports.

Nauseda said he hoped the message reached Russia in time, and he did not provide further details, citing the agreed approach with Washington. After the meeting, he said little was officially confirmed.

US media, citing unnamed sources, reported that Ratcliffe warned Russia during his Wednesday visit against attacking Nato allies. The Kremlin denied the report when asked, and it blamed the West instead.
