ICE to collaborate with tZERO on infrastructure for tokenized securities

The NYSE parent will invest in tZERO's latest financing round and license its blockchain patent portfolio covering compliant transfers, smart contracts and corporate actions.

NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has agreed to collaborate with tZERO on infrastructure for tokenized securities markets, with tZERO serving as a design partner for ICE’s upcoming NYSE-affiliated platform, The Block reports.

The partnership includes ICE investing in tZERO’s latest financing round and licensing tZERO’s blockchain patent portfolio, which covers 103 patents related to areas such as compliant transfers, smart contracts and corporate actions.

The firms will also explore using tZERO’s tokenized assets for collateral management at ICE clearing houses and other affiliates.

tZERO CEO Alan Konevsky said the collaboration expands the firm’s end-to-end regulated platform for tokenized securities and related intellectual property, positioning it for broader reach into public equities.
