Strive adds 1,800 Bitcoin in $143M purchase to become fifth-largest holder

The acquisition, bought between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 at an average $79,431 per BTC, raised Strive’s holdings to 23,156 BTC from 21,356 BTC a week earlier.

Strive, a publicly traded asset manager and Bitcoin treasury company, bought 1,800 Bitcoin for about $143 million between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28, according to Cointelegraph. The company said it paid an average price of $79,431 per BTC, including fees and expenses, and CEO Matt Cole confirmed the purchase.

The new buy lifted Strive’s total holdings to 23,156 BTC, up from 21,356 BTC a week earlier. Cointelegraph reports that the increase amounted to roughly an 8.4% rise in Bitcoin holdings over five business days, based on commentary from Adam Livingston, an adviser to Saturn Credit.

Cointelegraph also said the latest acquisition pushed Strive past Bullish to become the fifth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, using industry data. Strive’s purchase activity has come alongside a broader crypto rebound that started Aug. 19 after the US Treasury Department announced plans to double the size of certain long-term bond buybacks.

In the same period, Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, resumed buying Bitcoin after pausing since June, acquiring 4,603 BTC at an average price of $80,318, Cointelegraph reported. The article links the risk-asset rebound, including Bitcoin climbing more than 23% to a recent high above $81,000, to the Treasury buyback announcement.
