The Nifty 50 fell 0.39% to 24,080 on Aug. 31, while the Sensex ended 0.40% lower at 76,957.

Indian market participants are likely to focus on a range of companies on Tuesday, Sept. 1, after several announcements and developments made following the previous session’s close, according to LiveMint Markets.

LiveMint Markets said the Indian stock market remained under pressure during Monday, Aug. 31, with the Nifty 50 ending 0.39% lower at 24,080 and the Sensex dropping 0.40% to close at 76,957. Both benchmarks also recorded August declines of more than 1.40%, ending a two-month winning streak.

The watchlist includes PVR INOX, which approved a share buyback worth up to ₹ 300 crore through the tender offer route at ₹ 1,450 per share, and PNB Housing Finance, whose board is scheduled to meet on Sept. 7 to consider raising funds via non-convertible debentures through a private placement, within limits set by shareholders, LiveMint Markets reported.

Other items highlighted by LiveMint Markets include Cantabil Retail India opening seven new showrooms in August to bring its total to 682 stores, NCC securing three orders totaling ₹ 430.19 crore excluding GST for its buildings division, and Brigade Enterprises entering Coimbatore with a residential project in Saravanampatti under a joint development agreement on 5.4 acres, with an estimated gross development value of about ₹ 600 crore.
