OpenSea restarts Solana NFT trading after four-year beta gap

The Block said OpenSea added Solana NFTs for the first time in beta in April 2022, covering just 165 collections, with limited traction as Magic Eden and Tensor led Solana volume then.

OpenSea has brought back Solana NFT trading on its marketplace, more than four years after it first tested Solana NFT support in beta in April 2022, according to The Block.

The new Solana rollout lets users buy, sell, and trade Solana NFT collections, including Mad Lads, Collector Crypt, and Phygitals, and it follows OpenSea’s earlier return to Solana in April 2025 with OS2 for fungible tokens, with NFTs expected to follow.

The Block noted the April 2022 beta rollout covered just 165 collections and drew limited traction, while rivals Magic Eden and Tensor captured most of Solana NFT volume at the time.

OpenSea also said Solana is now its first non-EVM chain for NFT trading since the beta ended, with other supported networks largely EVM-compatible, including Ethereum and Polygon, and the marketplace launch comes as overall NFT volumes remain well below 2021 to 2022 peaks.
