Insurance-linked securities funds extend gains into July 2026
July’s average return was 1.05%, lifting year-to-July performance to 5.12% for the ILS Advisers Fund Index, with every fund reporting a positive month.
Insurance-linked securities investment fund strategies, spanning catastrophe bonds and private ILS, continued to post gains through July 2026, according to the ILS Advisers Fund Index published by Artemis.
For July 2026, the index reported an average return of 1.05%, its best month year-to-date and strongest since October 2025, while performance for the first seven months of 2026 rose to 5.12%.
Artemis said there were no major catastrophe or other insured loss events during the period that would have impacted insurance-linked securities funds, and it does not anticipate the Kumamoto, Japan earthquake from having an impact on results for July.
The outlet also noted that every ILS fund reporting to the index for July delivered a positive return, marking the fourth consecutive month of fully positive reporting, with fund returns ranging from 0.45% to 2.88%.
