LSE to launch tokenized UK stock trading on 24/5 venue in 2027

The tokenized stocks will be listed on the LSE 24 night-time trading venue, which operates Monday through Friday with trading hours extended beyond the traditional market day.

London Stock Exchange Group is partnering with Kraken parent company Payward to bring tokenized UK stock trading to its new night-time venue, LSE 24, with access to tokenized stocks that track leading UK equity products expected to begin in 2027, the Financial Times reported. Payward’s chief commercial officer, Mark Greenberg, said the tokenized stocks will be listed on LSE’s LSE 24 platform, which the exchange announced on July 21. The venue is designed to provide 24/5 trading from Mondays to Fridays. Cointelegraph notes that the move fits a broader push by traditional market operators to offer tokenized equity products that can be traded around the clock, often with fractional ownership. Other institutions exploring similar offerings include Nasdaq, CME Group, and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the NYSE. The LSE announcement also follows related activity in tokenized markets, including Nasdaq’s plan to acquire LeveL Markets to expand round-the-clock trading capabilities and ICE’s investment in crypto exchange OKX to bring NYSE-listed tokenized stocks to its platform starting in the second quarter of 2026, according to the report.
