Strategy resumes bitcoin buys after 10-week pause, adds 4,603 BTC

The company funded the purchase with proceeds from a common-share sale, selling 4.53 million shares for net proceeds of $602.8 million, and kept its $5.10 billion USD Reserve unused for the transaction.

Strategy restarted bitcoin purchases after a 10-week gap, buying 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million during the week ended Aug. 30, according to the company’s Monday filing reported by The Defiant.

The purchase used proceeds from common-share sales rather than Strategy’s $5.10 billion USD Reserve, which under its board-approved policy can be used only for preferred-stock dividends and debt interest unless directors authorize another use.

During the same week, Strategy sold 4.53 million MSTR shares for net proceeds of $602.8 million and allocated $369.7 million to bitcoin, along with $151.8 million for STRC preferred share repurchases, $50.7 million for STRC dividends, and $30 million to its more flexible USD Cash account.

Following Monday’s transaction, Strategy’s bitcoin holdings rose to 845,050 BTC, acquired for an aggregate $63.73 billion at an average cost of $75,412, The Defiant reported.
