The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, UKMTO, said a tanker reported being struck by three projectiles while sailing out of the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters, a report relayed by FXStreet.

The incident was reported 17 nautical miles east of Khasab in Oman. UKMTO said there were no casualties and no environmental damage reported.

FXStreet also noted that, at the time of writing, West Texas Intermediate crude was up 3.2% on the day at $85.44.

WTI, which FXStreet describes as a benchmark crude benchmark priced in US dollars, was presented as moving alongside broader supply and demand factors that can be affected by geopolitical instability, wars, and sanctions.
