Tokio Marine HCC’s CPLG appoints Brian Alva as SVP of Underwriting
Alva will lead CPLG’s cyber and technology underwriting and help expand its underwriting operations across the US.
Tokio Marine HCC’s Cyber and Professional Lines Group (CPLG) has appointed Brian Alva as Senior Vice President of Underwriting, based in Houston.
In the new role, Alva will take responsibility for CPLG’s cyber and technology underwriting, with the appointment aimed at strengthening the group’s cyber leadership while pursuing disciplined and profitable growth.
Reinsurance News said CPLG expects Alva to oversee development of its cyber underwriting operation, including underwriting talent, portfolio and product strategy, and collaboration across underwriting, claims, actuarial, data science, risk services, and distribution.
Alva brings more than 15 years of experience in cyber and professional liability insurance, including recent work as Vice President, Specialty Cyber at Travelers, and earlier leadership roles at Corvus Insurance and NAS Insurance Services, which is now part of Tokio Marine HCC.
