Webull adds cryptocurrency trading in Canada via Coinbase platform
Webull said Canadian digital asset ownership has climbed to 25% this year, up from 10% in 2023, citing Ontario Securities Commission research.
Webull is expanding its Canadian self-directed brokerage offering to include cryptocurrencies, adding digital assets alongside stocks, exchange-traded funds, and options for retail clients. The platform said the expansion brings Canada into a crypto footprint it already has in the United States, Australia, and Brazil.
Cointelegraph reports that Webull will run its Canadian crypto offering on Coinbase’s Crypto-as-a-Service infrastructure. Coinbase will provide the underlying trading and custody services, according to the announcement.
Webull’s Canadian website currently lists 10 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana, and notes additional assets are also available. The brokerage pointed to rising crypto adoption in Canada as a key driver.
Webull cited Ontario Securities Commission research it says shows digital asset ownership reaching 25% this year from 10% in 2023. It also highlighted Canadian regulatory work on clearer industry rules, including a federal framework for stablecoins, with the Stablecoin Act introduced after the 2025 federal budget.
