Bessent says U.S. has backing for economic action against Iran at G20
The Treasury secretary also faced pushback over the Trump administration’s trade policies at the G20 gathering, adding pressure as the U.S. weighs its approach.
The New York Times reports that Treasury secretary Scott Bessent told attendees at the G20 summit that the United States has support for an economic war against Iran.
The outlet said Bessent’s remarks came as he faced pushback over the Trump administration’s trade policies at the same global meeting.
