UOB lifts India growth and inflation forecasts for FY27
UOB raised its FY27 GDP call to 7.2% from 6.8% after 1QFY27 growth of 7.8% year-on-year, and lifted inflation to 5.2% from 5.0%.
FXStreet, citing a note from UOB economist Jester Koh, said the bank has revised up its India forecast for both growth and inflation for FY27.
UOB increased its FY27 GDP forecast to 7.2% from 6.8%, attributing the change to a stronger-than-expected 1QFY27 expansion of 7.8% year-on-year.
The bank also lifted its FY27 headline inflation forecast to 5.2% from 5.0%, pointing to robust food price momentum and higher costs tied to services and energy.
FXStreet also included other market commentary, noting moves in GBP/USD, EUR/USD, gold, global sovereign bonds, and US Treasury yields, but those items were not tied to India’s forecast changes in the provided material.
