US 10-year Treasury yield rises to highest level since late 2023

The 10-year yield climbed to 4.81%, with crude oil moving higher and inflation risks strengthening Fed rate-hike expectations.

Treasury yields continued to rise on Wednesday, pushing the US 10-year note to its highest level since November 2023, according to CNBC Markets.

LiveMint Markets reported the yield reached 4.81%, driven by inflation fears that are also being amplified by higher crude oil prices.

At the same time, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East escalated, with LiveMint linking the move in risk expectations to increased uncertainty after US military action against Iranian sites and subsequent strikes.

The higher yield also reflects stronger expectations for US Fed policy tightening, as investors priced in the inflation impact alongside oil price moves, LiveMint Markets said.
