WTW becomes official insurance partner for England women’s football leagues
The multi year deal includes plans to co-develop player insurance for athletes in the Barclays Women’s Super League and Women’s Super League 2.
WTW has been named the official insurance partner of the Barclays Women’s Super League and Women’s Super League 2 under a multi year agreement with WSL Football, according to Coverager.
The partnership calls for WTW to work with WSL Football and clubs across both leagues to explore insurance solutions for female athletes, with a central focus on co-developing player insurance for women competing at BWSL and BWSL2 clubs.
WTW said the initiative is intended to reflect the different health considerations and risk exposures faced by female footballers as the women’s game grows and professionalizes. WSL Football oversees England’s top women’s club competitions, including the Barclays WSL, Barclays WSL2 and the Subway Players Cup, representing 26 clubs.
Coverager reports the offering will be available to employees and their families across three generations, designed to simplify placements and provide consistent coverage throughout the construction lifecycle. WTW also pointed to a coverage gap linked to UCAP reductions affecting capacity payments even after repairs are completed.
